Keynote speakers, co-chairs, and dates for the 2009 ALT Conference

Tom Boyle and Gilly Salmon will co-chair the 2009 ALT conference, named (after WB Yeats) "In dreams begins responsibility", with the strap line Choices, evidence, and change. ALT-C 2009 will run between 8 and 10 September, in Manchester.

Keynote speakers will include Michael Wesch and Terry Anderson.

Key dates

• Proposals for inclusion in the programme will be accepted between 1 December 2008 and 16 February 2009.
• Bookings will open in early May.
• Presenters’ booking deadline: 29 June 2009.
• Earlybird booking deadline: 6 July 2009.
• Bookings close: 14 August 2009.

ALT-C 2008 - first meeting of the programme committee

ALT-C 2008 - Rethinking the Digital Divide - will be in Leeds between 9 and 11 September 2008. The  programme committee will hold its first face-to-face meeting in Birmingham on 19 November, with participants from as far away as Ramallah on the West Bank.
